Using Distributor

Use Distributor to pull news stories from the main site to the program sites.

Push a News Story When You Are On the Main Site

When you use this method, the child post’s publish date will be initialized with the current date.

When you are on the main site, you can push a news story to a program site.

  1. Edit the news story you want to push.

  2. In the header, choose the Distributor option.

  3. Select the sites you want to push the story to.

  4. Uncheck “As Draft” if you would like the story to be immediately published on the program site.

  5. Click “Distribute.”

Pull a News Story From The Child Site

When you use this method, the child post’s publish date will be initialized with parent’s publish date.

  1. In the left side menu, choose Distributor.

  2. Filter the posts to only the post type you want.

  3. Check the box next to the story you would like to pull.

  4. Click “Apply.”

Updating a Distributed Story

By default, when you distribute an item to a program site, it is locked on the program site. Locked items do receive updates that are made on the main site. As you can see, you can unlink it and make changes.

You may edit the publish date on the program site without unlinking from original.
