Add a List of Recent Posts

A post list allows you to display recent blog posts or news stories on a page. This could be useful on a homepage to highlight and direct users to that content. To learn more about blogs and news posts, see Working with Posts and News.

Insert Post Lists using Zuse Create. Before adding a Post List, make sure you understand creating pages using Zuse Create.

To insert a Post List, insert a new module on your page and select Post List.

Complete the Post List dialogue box. On the General tab, select a name for your section, the number of items to display, and whether you are showing blog posts or news stories.

On the Restrictions tab, you can filter which stories appear by category, tags, and age of post. This is also where you can specify the sort order- newest or oldest first.

Using categories and tags to filter your list is very flexible. You need to have your categories and tags already set up to complete this task. Click in the empty circle next to the category or tag to toggle through the options. You can include or exclude tags and categories individually.

Manual Offset Control tells the system to skip the first posts when choosing which posts will be displayed. This is useful if you are using two posts lists on the same page and you don't want the content to overlap.

On the Display Options tab, you can control the appearance of the module.

Choose an Excerpt Length Limit to determine how much excerpt text is included with the title. This will only apply to posts without a manually specified excerpt.

Columns allow you to display posts in a horizontal layout. The maximumn allowed is four.

There are three display styles to choose from:

Plain is the original style.

Both Archive and Feature list display the featured image when available. Archive fits well in wider columns with the picture to the left of the excerpt.

The Feature List style includes the picture under the title and before the excerpt.

Display Name

If you choose to display the author, set your display name to control how it appears on the list.
