Page Attributes

The Page Attributes meta-box controls the parent of a page and its template.

Parents and Order

Specifying Parent pages helps organize your site. The parent will define the breadcrumb and the the slug (URL) of your page. For example, the parent of Child Page is Sample Two. You can see that Sample Two appears in the Breadcrumb and the URL of the Child Page.

You can also specify the order of the pages. This affects the display order of the pages. For example, look at the highlighted menu in the screenshot above. Child Page, Child Page Two and Child Page Three are ordered 1, 2, and 3. Without specifying an order, they would be ordered alphabetically so Child Page Three would appear before Child Page Two. This menu is created using a Sub-Page Menu.

The parent page and order will also define the default location of the page in the community site's menu.

Templates

The Page Attributes box is also where you can define a template for the page. Select the select a template link to choose the template to use. Templates are created by Editor and define layout and secondary content for a page. See the Using Templates for more information.
